Note: "One of a kind" or "One Off" vases are not pictured, and are available at the shop in Seattle only. Even thought these are hand thrown we make an effort to market a standard item that can be ordered from year to year with some predictability as to what you will receive. One a kind items are not always reproducible.

Vases are made in Porcelain and Stoneware. The large sizes are always Stoneware, as Stoneware is easier to throw and shape on the Potters wheel. All vases are hand thrown and no two are exactly alike.

Porcelain is more durable. It also gives a white background, which is good for some glazes. Stoneware is used for more rustic effects. Stoneware pots are always speckled (with Iron) that is inherent in the clay itself. (See below)

Vases come in "Tall" and "Ginger Jar" shapes. Some, "one of a kind," are always available in the shop showroom for local Seattle customers.

Above is a Carbon Trap Shino glaze... very unpredictable and unusual. *Note: Shino is not orderable in an exact way... it comes out the way it comes out!

Above is an assortment of tall small and tall medium small vases.

Many times the shapes and effects are different than pictured. We can usually make them to 1 inch tolerances.

Remember all vases are hand thrown on a potters wheel and no two are exactly the same. Also, the kiln causes different color tones depending on the firing.
